African Full Moon

The shining African full moon

Brings back nostalgic memories

Moments we shared as children

As we fully enjoyed our innocence

In the shining nights we would sit

Playing games in halfly lit nights

We'd rush to the house, open the pot

And refill githeri supply in our pockets

Nothing mattered at that point to us

Not even the shouting of our mother

Nor the danger lurking glaringly as

A thief ready to rob a rich  brother

Shirtless,shoeless and senseless

We shrieked at the top of voices

Cursing,singing,riddling,narrating

Till we fell asleep in the open ditches
