THE FIVE PILOTS

Five happenstance found themselves buying
In the same joint, intoxicatedly having fun
Unbeknownst to pains of the others laughing
Each Set off with their plane of choice,to get high

The first one pulled his green leaves out
Like a goat he chewed, till froth formed
He said that he invented the parachute
The others stopped their flight and laughed

The second one poured his flour on the table
Like a pig he bagan snorting, little by little
Twenty Minutes later to stand he was unable
His bones had immediately turned too brittle

The third his bottle held tightly to his heart
He drank away his sorrows and tears
And told the others never to get a sweetheart
For marriage life he lamented was fierce

The fourth, this while an old paper in hand
He started rolling the seeds. Saliva the glue
That held the substance in place,at last gland
He lit it. 'Wah,Jack Oyah,Listen to this clue
In Zion i'll be the lead singer for Jah's band'
Like a steam engine, dark smoke to skies he blew

The fifth one perused the old Holy Book
Searching for the sinners condemning verses
These damned people he gave unholy look
Knowing that they'd  be on hell bound buses

I stood there looking at each, not judging
I too was not perfect i had my share of ills
I admired their unique merry making
But at what cost? How much the soul fills?
