SOBRIETY

He staggers home in the morning inebriated        A whole IT graduate hurling profanities                  'I asked you not to birth me' acclaims he          Give me my share of your eighth inherited land.    The mother cries herself to sleep many a nights  A laughing stock made me you mine son          Every day i beseech the gods to change you    And your thirst for the bitter waters quench      The father no more prides himself among men      A village shame you became. He too hopes    That the light you will see, and your ways change  Your siblings say that they recognise you not.  But thou knowest thy family loves you more      And yearns for the day you will return to sobriety.

Son of My Mother

Nothing prepared me for the pain  Of your untimely journey from plain The memories beat me like strong rain I long to see you son of my mother again  I will be well;you had promised before the Fateful day. I recall the flicker of hope in the Eyes which like clouds hid every pain  the  Son of my mother was going through. Retelling your story was a painful ordeal  Streams of hot liquid flowed a great deal Our young innocent images play like reel  I long to see you son of my mother for real Now you sleep covered  deep in the ground  Tonnes of earth providing warmth unbound Even in your slumber i am still very proud Of the person you had become when around Your son constantly nags me to call you  Little does he know you started anew In to the shining blue  skies you flew After the big trumpet the angels blew.

See Ye All Hence

They trudge on twos yet they are  crippled Outward appearance exquisit and dirty souls Our friendship is not held by banana fibres They claim, for thirty cents they'll sell you Pious listening to the vehement preacher  Devil incarnate while living their lives I love you more than you can imagine They whisper It is deep loathe they harbour in their hearts Huge smiles when they are in your presence Malicious lies and jibes in your absence 'I dont know what i'd do without you' It is your fall they waiting to celebrate Gigantic eyes have you but cannot see Elephantic ears which cannot hear  Brains which cannot contemplate And discover the insincerity in modern Friendship See ye all hence Listen thou forthwith Retract Judge

Before I Sleep

The title of the book is gotten from a line in Robert Frost's poem "Promises To Keep". Dr. Tom A. Dooley is a great admirer of the American poet's works and the poem happens to be one of his favourites. The title is hence metaphorical, symbolizing a sleep deeper than sleep, death. What would you do if you knew your days were numbered, perhaps a year or less than that? What would it feel trying to fight death by working yourself out before the clock stops ticking? Would you devote your last days to a holiday in a cosy place or would you rather serve humanity till illness incapacitates you? Dr. Thomas A. Dooley is a young, tall, lean handsome Navy Doctor, who has recently been awarded a Legion of Merit for the part he played singularly in the U.S.A Navy's heroic peacetime operation "Passage To Freedom" in Indo-China.   The Biography has been compiled by close associates of Dr. Tom,those who worked with him and related with him on a daily basis. They all have o...

Justice For Kianjokoma Brothers

Young and promising they were But the government is at war With anyone walking a dream Woe unto mother's tears stream Battered on the head and body The government tried fool everybody That the two brothers were fugitives Woe unto mother's tears stream An Engineer and lawyer lost same day No mask therefore a huge price to pay Two lives equated to a ten shillings price Woe unto mother's tears stream  Judgement day;put them on one side And the politician and the police aside Let them burn as the brothers watch And the mother's tears will be avenged.
